What if we started to modify our bodies to make them fitter and more suitable for the environment we are living in rather than modifying the environment? The VLB project by Dunne and Raby depicts a fictive scenario for a society that abandons the use of technology and concentrates on using science to maximize their own physical capabilities through training, DIY biohacking and self-experimentation. Instead of modifying the planet to satisfy their needs, this society experiments with the modification of their own bodies and the use of environmentally friendly low tech solutions that facilitate their new physical capabilities. In that world the transport is human, animal or powered by natural force and is organized in the spirit of cooperation rather than competition.
