Skye Yuxi Sun Treasure Island, 2015

Inspired by freeports where collectors store valuable artworks without paying taxes, Skye Yuxi Sun imagined a series of repository private islands in the River Thames. She pictured a place where the future extra-rich would  store, what could be the ultimate symbol of total triumph over life, death and nature – resurrected extinct animals. Even the fact that the word paradise is used to describe offshore fiscal havens testifies that opulence can only exist in isolation. What will there be left to own when everything will be bought, even life itself? What if power and money could change the course of evolution?
